Dr Welyne Jeffrey Jehom is a Senior Lecturer in Anthropology and Sociology at Universiti Malaya, where she has worked since 2016. Her research with Indigenous groups in Sarawak focuses on women’s empowerment and women-driven economic activities. Her most recent book, Enriching Iban Pua Kumbu: Weaving Tradition and Innovation in an Indigenous Society (2026), explores Indigenous women’s work, the conservation of Indigenous knowledge, and community engagement.
